Ian Cole
Chief Innovation Officer
In his role as chief innovation officer at Give Kids The World, Ian Cole is responsible for the creation and execution of diverse initiatives designed to deliver unforgettable experiences for critically ill children and their families.
This includes leading the Information Technology team overseeing networks, applications, information security, and desktop, mobile and entertainment technology; spearheading interactive experiences, including the creation and management of the Mayor Clayton's WonderLab STEAM education center; and championing construction and capital improvement projects throughout the 89-acre nonprofit resort.
He joined Give Kids The World after serving as vice president, digital customer experience with Marriott Vacations Worldwide, where he led customer experience innovation for the Sheraton Vacation Club and Westin Vacation Club brands. Previously he served as vice president, digital and direct marketing for Vistana Signature Experiences prior to Vistana's acquisition by Marriott Vacations Worldwide.
Ian holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Florida State University and a Master of Business Administration from the Crummer School of Business at Rollins College. He is a founder and Board member of Nation of Makers, having led the transition of President Obama's Nation of Makers initiative; as well as a founder and Board member of The Maker Effect Foundation, an all-volunteer nonprofit that promotes STEAM education in Central Florida through Maker Faire Orlando, MakerFX Makerspace, Robot Ruckus, BrightBikes and more.
