Sara Valentine
Vice President of Human Resources
Sara Valentine brings to her position a wealth of experience and expertise providing human resource solutions for organizations in the public service, healthcare, advertising and privately-owned small business sectors.
In her current role as vice president of human resources at Give Kids The World Village, Sara is responsible for driving talent management strategies to achieve long-term goals; conceptualizing and implementing employee engagement and recognition programs; administering the performance management process; developing on-the-job training modules; spearheading compensation and benefits policies; ensuring a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging; and overseeing legal compliance with local, state and federal regulations surrounding worker compensation, unemployment claims and other policies and programs.
Prior to joining the Village, Sara served as vice president of human resources at SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment, Inc., where she directed all people-related functions at SeaWorld, Aquatica and Discovery Cove parks. Previous experience includes providing HR services to a breadth of clients as president of SimplyHR in Williamsburg, VA, a company she founded in 2012.
Sara is a graduate of American InterContinental University with a degree in business administration. She holds multiple HR certifications, was awarded the Covington Who's Who of HR Professionals in 2015 and was nominated for Women of the Year in HR in 2014 by Women's magazine. Along with 12 other female authors, Sara co-authored an Amazon Best Seller anthropology entitled Undeterred, telling stories of how she and other women found their seat at the table. She and her husband have four children and four dogs.
